Since the publication of Further India, other authors have written in detail about some of the explorations mentioned in it, but none has attempted a work of the same scope. Not only does the book provide a great range of material but it gives data which are difficult to find elsewhere, such as on the opening up of Burma. The work remains a solid and valuable source of information, and those interested in the geography, topography, economy and history of Southeast Asia and stories of courage and daring will wish to have a copy of the book. Further India is a book to which one will want to turn often and is once more a welcome addition to the bookshelf.
